Pink diamonds - Diamonds dominate Christie's auction

The "Rose of Dubai," a pear-shaped 25.02-carat fancy pink diamond was the top lot at Christie's "Magnificent Jewels" auction, where it fetched more than $6 million on Wednesday.
The diamond, "realized a staggering $240,000 per carat, with more than four potential buyers fiercely competing to acquire the magnificent gem," said Rahul Kadakia, head of jewelry for Christie's Americas, in a release issued Wednesday. The gem's winning bidder was Amer Radwan of Dubai.
"Diamonds of all colors, whether white, blue or pink, sparkled in our sale," Kadakia said in the statement.
