Long before she dived into the New York City fashion scene, Randi Molofsky knew how to accessorize.

When she was about 5 years old in Severna Park, she insisted on wearing a belt with everything, including swimsuits. Later on, she always made sure she had the right purse or jewelry to wear with an outfit.

Now 27, Ms. Molofsky has upgraded to the ultimate accent - diamonds, and a book about them. Her passion for them drove her to write "A Girl's Guide to Buying Diamonds: How to Choose, Evaluate, and Buy the Diamond You Want."

Ms. Molofsky, a freelance writer who works for the Mouawad Group, a century-old jewelry maker and gem merchant with sales across the world, will be signing copies of her book tomorrow at a downtown Annapolis store at promotional event with the theme of "The Good Life."
